TEAM
QUOTA: 7 girls and 7 boys
ELIGIBILITY
(Eligibility does NOT qualify athletes for the team. If an athlete
is eligible, they are included in the qualification process)
1. SSRA Youth Ski League,
Full-Time Youth Ski League and Junor Development athletes are eligible.
Athletes in the Introduction to Ski Racing Program can become eligible
if they upgrade to the YSL program by January 15, 2010.
2. J4 (ages 11-12) and
J5 (ages 9-10) athletes are eligible. Ages are determined as of
12/31/09.
3. 70% attendance is required
to be eligible for the selection process. Attendance is based on
the weekend calendar from Dec. 1-Feb. 10 plus Holiday Camp. Weeknights
can be used to off-set missed days, but are not counted against
those not enrolled in programs that include night training.
Exceptions to the attendance
requirements are made at coach discretion. For example, injury is
a valid reason for an athlete to be unable to meet attendance requireements.
Also, newcomers who enroll by January 15 may be eligible based on
70% attendance during period after joining team.

1. J4's and J5's are ranked
(not just SSRA athletes...ALL EEYSL competitors), in one list, by
finish placing to the 30th place and awarded World Cup points for
EACH RUN of each 2-run race. Out of league racers will be purged
from the results. It is important for families, and athletes to
realize how this process works. The individual run selection reflects
SSRA's philosophy that athletes should "go for it"! This
produces fast skiing, and fast skiing earns a spot on the team.
2. The best two single-run
results in giant slalom and the best single-run result in slalom
will be counted.
