What is the extension program?
The SSRA Extension program provides an opportunity for intro and ski school athletes to continue building fundamental skiing skills throughout the rest of the season. This program exposes athletes to a variety of training and race environments. Our experienced coaching staff will introduce the athletes to ski racing while maintaining an emphasis on skill development and fun!
Athletes should be able to ski intermediate terrain. The athletes must be able to independently load the lift, use the restroom, and put on and take off their skis.
One pair all-mountain or junior race skis is sufficient. Powder skis and twin tips will inhibit skill development and are not recommended. Helmets, goggles and poles are required. Our coaches and staff are available to answer equipment questions.
Not included. Athletes should have a season pass or purchase lift tickets for training.
This is a 6-week program offered on Sundays from February 18th through March 25th.
Weekly emails will be sent detailing plans. Training begins at 9:00am, lunch with parents 11:45-12:30, and afternoon training from 12:30 – 3:00pm.
This program includes coaching at the EEYSL (Emerald Empire Youth Ski League) races at Forty Nine Degrees (March 3rd – 4th) and Lookout Pass (March 24th-25th). Race entry fees and USSA Membership are not included in program tuition.
