SSRA TAKES EEYSL LEAD AT SCHWEITZER

In Saturday's giant slalom, SSRA U8 girls were anchored by Ava Bot (lower right) taking the silver medal. SSRA U8 boys (see below) were led Luke Falter (3rd), Levi Aden (5th), and Maxwell Burns (6th) for a strong showing.

On Sunday SSRA U8 athletes (right) were led by Luke Falter (2nd) and Levi Aden (5th)

 

 

In U10 GS action on Saturday, the women were paced by Ally Gardella (3rd), Ava Anyan (5th), Sonja Toillion (9th), and Keira Moore (10th). The boys were equally tough with Merrick Banning leading the charge (3rd), JoJo Spitz (4th), Cooper Holcomb (5th), Charlie Schafer (6th), and Micaiah Aden (10th). 

In the Sunday's slalom, SSRA U10's really stood out with Ally Gardella taking silver, Georgia Lewis (5th) and Ava Anyan (7th). The boys swept the podium with Bruce Emch (gold), Merrick Banning (silver), and Charlie Schafer (bronze). JoJo Spitz finished in 4th and Micaiah Aden took 6th.

SSRA U12's were FAST. In Saturday's GS, Maya Peck took the win with Kate Bishopp supporting in 7th. On the boys side, Will Emch took bronze while Ben Orton arced into 6th place.

 

In Sunday's slalom Maya Peck took 2nd, followed by Annalise Toillion in 6th. The boys charged with Will Emch stopping the clock for silver, Jaden Spitz in 6th and Jonah Aden in 8th.

SSRA U14's ripped to phenomenal results at Schweitzer. In the GS, Daria Markewych took bronze followed by Amy Farley (6th) and Isabell Simpson (8th). The men were led by Reilley Anderson with gold, Johannes Liaboe (silver), Caden Goranson (4th), Jake Dale (5th), Trenton Gardella (8th) and Tommy Kasimov (10th)

 Slalom racing proved to be even better for the SSRA U14's. Amy Farley stormed to a silver medal with Daria Markewych (4th), Isabell Simpson (5th), and Olivia Ellingwood (8th) flanking her. The men SWEPT the podium with Reilley Anderson taking gold, Caden Goranson (silver) and Jake Mamola (bronze). Close behind was Aditya Varadan (4th), Ben Lewis (6th), Tommy Kasimov (8th), and Jack Dale (9th)

 

 

MCLELLAN, SIMPSON LEAD SSRA U16 BOYS AT NORTHWEST CUP

Jan 31-Feb 1 (Stevens Pass) The U16 boys travelled to Leavenworth, WA to compete in the Northwest Cup races at Stevens Pass. PNSA's Northwest Cup is the premier racing series in the division for athletes 15 and older.

In Saturday's giant slalom, Cole McClellan stopped the clock in 18th place to lead the SSRA boys team. This was also a 4th place finish amongst U16 athletes. Jared Farley finished next in 34th place and 14th for the U16's. Scot Simpson chased in 42nd place overall (19th U16) while Hunter Scheidt ranked 53rd (25th for U16's) at the end of two runs.

Sunday's GS race was led by SSRA's Scot Simpson in 39th overall (15th amongst U16's) flanked by Hunter Scheidt who finished 47th (21st for U16's).

SSRA HOSTS EEYSL AT LOOKOUT PASS

Lookout Pass (February 21-22) This weekend, SSRA hosted their annual EEYSL races at Lookout Pass while Mt. Spokane has temporarily suspended operations. Thank you to Lookout Pass Ski Area for their generous support!
